The Nigerian Air Force (NAF have successfully carried out Alpha Jets air strikes that destroyed Boko Haram’s vehicle workshops, fuel and ammunition dumps all within the Sambisa forest, Borno State, in a renewed drive to  further degrade the sect’s assets.
This feat, according to the statement on Tuesday by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Air Commodore Dele Alonge, came as a result of a painstaking Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) efforts by the NAF’s Unmanned Aerial vehicle (UAV) and ATR-42 platforms.
In view of the above, Alonge said,  the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has  assured  Nigerians that the military will meet the December deadline of defeating Boko Haram terrorists.
He further assured that "with these  successful  strikes  on  the insurgents, their capabilities have been further degraded to pave the way for the final onslaught by the land forces to meet the Commander-in-Chief, President Mohammadu Buhari’s directives to bring insurgency in the North-East to an end".
